Research and development of the two planes
Based on what I did last week, I have to think of the representation of two planes. So I decided, through the painting " The Sitting room", to concentrate myself on the power of the roof and the relevance of the two little rooms in the background.
To clarify my idea, I decided to make the roof in wood to show the different thicknesses of the beams and the wall in plaster to show his strength.
But first of all, I made a draft proposition of my idea.

Construction of protostructure
Study of two planes selected and insertion into protostructure
Drawings 1:20 of protostructure and two planes (one tectonic, the other stereotomic)

Draft Model
Based on the painting of the first exercice, we were asked to choose two different plans the create e new space on the protostructure. The meeting of two plans is an important and delicate moment and the good link between them make the structure stable or not. Playing with the tectonic and the sterotomic aspect of a structure allows us to understand the difficulty of the combination of the two plans we choosed. The draft model is here to symbolise our idea before we cast it.
I choose the oblic roof and a wall the we see in the painting. The inclinaison of the roof was an important moment for me because it creates a space that grows with the progression into the room and then decline once the half of the room passed.
The wood of the wall translates the light transition between the two rooms. The wall makes the link between the roof and the protostructure catched by the wall.
