    Since we are on the North facade, we use the South facade which absorbs most of the sun to make openings. In this way we permit the most sun rays possible to pass through trellis.

         Maquette 1:5 Garden in Process. 


    By studying the position of the sun between April and May (the time of the construction process) the optimal position for every plant could be decided. This is done in relation to the needs of every plant when it comes to sun and water. For example, the facades the most sunny are ideal for plants with great need of light.

    A First study of the site in relation to the sunlight rays which is later analysed relating it to the plants to be planted.

    Aromatic plants are planted on the bottom part in order to be able to collect their leaves, whereas the plants on the top are different types of flowers.

    The tables above show the needs of each plant. We created them in order to sort out the best way to grow up and take care of each plant.

    This garden is made of an inverted pyramidal void. This void is generated by lattices occupying the negative area of the form.

  • HOUSE 1- CONCEPT

    The room in our project is a garden. And this garden, is an observatory, non-inhabited Structure. Since no user is allowed within, there is no direct interaction between the user and the garden. He thus automatically becomes the observer of the plants while growing.

                                                    Superstudio inspiration: the notion of panopticism and the idea of the garden as a bubble 


    The Garden may be compared to a green bubble within the protostructure. It is an isolation area in which only one observer may enter at a time. Once the observer enters from below, he is the central point of this garden. He may observe everything around him at 360 degrees. Even if he is physically in the protostructure he is in another environment. He experiences a radical change between the exterior and the interior of the garden.

  • Weekend in Genova

    Selon Euclide, l'intersection de deux cercles alignés sur une droite fait la normale de cette dernière.

    Deux situations – horizontalité, verticalité – articulation « riche » en passage, des relations pensées.

    Transparence du Palazzo Spinola, opacité du Funicolare ; une mise en commun d'une part, une totale séparation de l'autre, la première autocentrée, la deuxième imbriquée dans la ville.

    Une superposition de moments communs aux parcours, droite coupant la ville, créant des passages, ponts, encastrement circulaire.

    Garden of Panoptic D-lights :

    De cette première forme cylindrique on a décidé de radicaliser le projet et de le ramener à l'essentiel, les plantes, leur observation et la création d'une zone de verdure en grande partie fermée au sein de la protostructure.

    Par une assemblage de treillis triangulaire en bois sur 4 faces où viennent s'appuyer les plantes, on obtient une sorte de pyramide inversée où l'observateur peut se placer en dessous et avoir une vue panoptique du jardin.

    La première étape consiste à comprendre comment viennent s'assembler ces treillis à la protostructure.

    Test 1:1 d'un treillis pour comprendre les dimensions réelles et les problématiques de montage

    Ensuite vient la problématique de la conception des pots de plantes et de l'assemblage entre ceux-ci et les treillis.
