Week 1 : Drawing researches, program for a room
Defind a program: first findings

From a painting by Vermeer, I could find the main points we need to be able to read easily:
- possibility to separate the reader from the outside
- necessity to have enough light
Moreover, I decided to introduce an oblique plan, so the reader can lean against it. The goal is to read novels, it takes more time than a letter.
the room is put in the up part of the protostructure to enhance the brightness.
Then began the drawing researches :

Week 2 : modify, condense informations
To add more specificity to the space, a plan was made 1m10 high, in order to put books on it. moreover, you can have an intimate space when you sit, but you can have a conversation about your readings when you stand up.

Then the plan that whas 1m10 high was put crossing the oblique plan, definding two spaces on each side, for two readers.
Week 3&4: Concretisation and integration in the protostructure
The plans her become concrete.
The horizontal plan is made between horizontal wood beams of the protostructure. It is realised thanks to a template.

Some junctions are made with neighbours projects

Week 5&6: work in an other way...

Perspective from inside
I enter the room.
I walk to the bookcase on my right
I squat to choose a book in a row.
I get up and browse it to check my choice.
Then I turn around the bookcase and sit on the floor, leaned to the oblique plan.
I don't see anymore the entrance of the room, I'm quiet.
The light is behind, I can read without being disturbed by a direct lighting, but the brighness is still enough.
I spend the afternoon there.
During this time someone comes, takes a book and sits on the other side of the bookcase.
Once finished, we stand up and exchange about what we have just read.
We store the book.
We leave the room together.
